Sparta Softball Rec League
At Sparta Youth Softball, we believe that every child deserves the chance to shine on the field, build lasting friendships, and enjoy the great game of softball. Our Recreation League is designed to offer a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment where kids of all skill levels can learn, grow, and play. Whether your child is stepping up to the plate for the first time or looking to hone their skills, we have a place for them. Let’s hit it out of the park together!
Farm Division
- Pre K (4) and Kindergarten
- All teams have one, one-hour practice/game on Saturday mornings.
- All girls are required to purchase a glove. You do not need to purchase a helmet and bat, the league provides them. However, you are more than welcome to purchase your own.
- Cleats are not required but strongly suggested.
Rookie Division
- 1st and 2nd grade
- All teams have one practice during the week and a ~1 hour game on Saturdays.
- All girls are required to purchase a glove. You do not need to purchase a helmet and bat, the league provides them. However, you are more than welcome to purchase your own. If purchasing your own helmet, please make sure it has a face mask.
- Cleats are not required but strongly suggested.
Minors & Majors Divisons
- Minors: 3rd-5th grade
- Majors: 6th-8th grade
- Minors & majors play against nearby towns (Rockaway, Denville, and Jefferson) and must travel there.
- Each team will have one practice and 1-2 games per week.
- All girls are required to purchase a glove, fielding mask and cleats.
- You do not need to purchase a helmet and bat, the league provides them. However, you are more than welcome to purchase your own. If purchasing your own helmet, please make sure it has a face mask.
